A must read, very good, great entertainment. I really enjoyed the characters, I truely felt a connection with them. Tonia is able to make you feel like you are a part of the action. Makes you want to jump on the train and join the adventures.Love it

Tonia Brown unfolds a story that constantly changes, hinged on the character. Her character development moves everything along in an extremely interesting way. Every character is a complete person and, even with their quirky flaws, you want to be there and get to know them more. I judge a book by how quickly I fall asleep when reading it, and with this... I was awake all night and had to make myself put it down.
I've now read the first and second books in this Railroad! series. They're well-written and great fun. I'm looking forward to reading more in the series and getting to know these characters even better, including Dodger, the Aeschylus-quoting cowpoke; the absent-minded Professor Dettweiler; and even Torque, the robotic manservant.
Pinprick Like most ebooks I read, there are spelling errors/wrong words that were never caught in the proofreading. Considering the quality of the writing overall, these minor hiccups in the text did not distract me.

Tonia Brown has yet again sucked me in and left me hanging...this time for a lot longer than a week. **DAMN YOU, Tonia Brown!!** This time around in Railroad Volume 2 Dogs of War, our protagonist, Rodger Dodger, is headed out of town preparing for his new position as security for the Sleipnir. Unfortunately, his services are needed a lot quicker than even he expected as an unwelcome messenger shows up with an ultimatum from his boss to come to their camp or the girl gets it. What girl you ask? Well, we briefly met Lelanea in Volume 1, but we learn a lot more about Ms Lelanea in Volume 2. She has a spunky don't mess with me attitude, is very intelligent and is the niece of the Professor. Upon entering the encampment of the 'pack' we meet the leader Butch who personality and appearance, honestly, just fits his name...just add in the furriness and features of a dog. Thaddaus is one of Butch's pack members, but he sees that the way Butch wants to run the group is not necessarily the best way to go about doing so.
As with Volume 1, Railroad Volume 2 Dogs of War is filled with action and suspense, a hint of romance...or maybe not. Dog people, an engineer with a secret (I've already guessed) , a ghost and many more off the wall characters that you can't help but love and find entertaining.
a fun fantasy read with interesting, likeable characters. So easy to read! If you like an old world western feel, with some new world gadgets thrown in, you'll love these books.
It is a crazy train!
I love these novellas. I wish they were longer but I am totally addicted. If you have read The Dark Tower from King, you will love these too!
